CREATION STATION
Tutor Linda Cook
Explore what painting is all about, looking at different media, processes and techniques (charcoal, ink, acrylic, oils and encaustic). You will be encouraged to explore your own journey whether starting anew or picking up where you left off. Bring along an A4 cartridge journal, charcoal and pencils. The first class will discuss materials and the survival kit needed for your journey.

Have fun whilst learning new skills! Try your hand at acting for the first time or sharpen existing skills. Sessions will include theatre games, warm-up exercises, creating a character, ways into script, improvisation, voice and movement, and the rehearsal process.

PUBLIC SPEAKING & COMMUNICATION

Does the thought of public speaking make you want to run a mile? You can overcome your fear! This fun, practical course will help you develop your communication and language skills, and gain confidence in public speaking. Learn to conduct meetings, give impromptu speeches, present prepared speeches and get constructive feedback to help you improve your technique.

TEXTILE ART

Create an art quilt that extends the boundaries from the traditional to a more freed-up, no-rules form of expression. Course includes textile working and design techniques. For first time quilt makers and those wanting to take a new direction. Bring along some fabrics that you like. Some basic sewing skills required.

Learn how to use hand and power tools to design and build a simple piece of furniture or woodcraft, or restore and revive an old piece Carve and inlay your own design. Learn how to cut, join, sand and polish wood, paua, mother of pearl and stone.
